JTF - The John Templeton Foundation
www.templeton.org
The John Templeton Foundation aims to advance human well-being by supporting research on the Big Questions, and by promoting character development, individual freedom, and free markets. The Foundation takes its vision from its founding benefactor, the late Sir John Templeton, who sought to stimulate what he described as “spiritual progress.” The Foundation serves as a philanthropic catalyst for discoveries relating to the deepest and most perplexing questions facing humankind. It supports research on subjects ranging from complexity, evolution, and emergence to creativity, forgiveness, and free will. It encourages civil, informed dialogue among scientists, philosophers, and theologians, as well as between such experts and the public at large. The goal is to spur curiosity and accelerate discovery. The work supported by the John Templeton Foundation crosses disciplinary, religious, and geographical boundaries. Through a wide range of media — print, digital, broadcast, and film — it seeks to raise awareness about cutting-edge discoveries in ways that are clear and thought-provoking.
